My how Time Does Fly........

I haven't posted to my blog in over a year.....Wow!

This year, I plan to use my blog to vent....To let the world know how pissed off I am at this Dictatorship masking as a Republic (namely Bush and his cronies)....Maybe get arrested for voicing my opinion......We'll just have to wait and see...

But as a former political activist (in my early 20's), I now know that I cannot stand by and allow things to happen around me, I need to be involved again.

With the House of Representatives, the Senate, the White House, and the Supreme Court firmly in the grips of W's neocon movement, it is up to US...The people of the United States of America, to hold them accountable.

We are currently in a dark period of one party rule. Where we are no longer governed by the rule of Law, but the rule of "do as I say, not as I do...I know what is right for you...."

I promise to keep posting my thoughts...Though not many people will read them...

It is a small way that I can contribute to the discourse, and hopefully create needed change.....

Our First Amendment Rights?

Dateline: February 7, 2006

As many of you may already know, this day was yet another sad day for our country.

Prior to Bush's delivery of the State of the Union (that is CONSTITUTIONALLY required by Article II, Section III, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution), an unbelievable VIOLATION of said Constitution was taking place.....

Cindy Sheehan, noted war protestor and personal pain-in-the-ass to President Bush (in a good way) was hauled out of the gallery by Capitol Police, promptly arrested and taken to jail. In Ms. Sheehan's own words, here is what happened:
(see http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/7330 for full text)

To add insult to injury, another woman, Beverly Young, wife of U.S. Rep. Bill Young, R- Fla was also removed from the Capitol, but was NOT ARRESTED AND FACED NO CHARGES. This was bad enough... 2 women removed from the HOUSE OF THE PEOPLE for participating in the political process and expressing their views (as PROTECTED BY THE FIRST AMENDMENT), but now the question remains.....why was Ms. Sheehan treated more harshly than Mrs. Young? Was it the "message?"

"2245 Dead. How Many More?" vs. "Support Our Troops - Defening Our Freedom"

The difference in treatment was based on these simple words? Or was it based on the fact that Ms. Sheehan's message hit a little to close to home for our Dictator/President Bush?

My concern, here goes much deeper....and I will explore them in my next posting....

As always your comments are greatly appriciated!
